GAZA RELIEF

An event to benefit the children of Gaza  is being held on Friday, May 15th, 2009, from 7 - 9:00 p.m. at the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center, 10431 Twin Rivers Rd in Columbia, MD.  (Music and refreshments from 6:30 p.m.)  A donation of $10 is being requested at the door.  All donations will go to provide school supplies, backpacks and playground equipment for the children.

Speakers are Medea Benjamin, co-founder of CODE PINK and Global Exchange, and Mai Abdul Rahman, founder of American Palestinian Women's Association.   

Mai is a strong voice for the people ofr Palestine and a student of the history of the Gaza region.  Medea recently returned form leading a delegation of 60 women (including Alice Walker) to Gaza.  Her first hand stories and impressions are moving.
