This workshop is intended for all who are interested in restoring balance, harmony & peace to ourselves, our communities & our environment. Participants who are already somewhat familiar with basic peacemaking skills are invited to learn some new ones and find ways to put old ones into practice. Participants can expect to:
Ø Understand the dynamics of conflict and the myriad possible responses to it. Ø Learn effective communication and listening skills that break down barriers and build bridges. Ø Understand the indigenous roots, principles & values of *restorative justice. Ø Practice restorative dialogue techniques that help others hear each other. Ø Remind ourselves that “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for” (Hopi proverb).
*Restorative Justice is an emerging social movement that embodies a set of values and principles urgently needed to restore and reconnect people to their communities and their environment.
